Founded in 1993, Seoul KFEM is the Korea Headquarters of Friends of the Earth (FOE), and it has initially served as the national secretariat of the Korean Federation for Environmental Movement (KFEM) which is the largest environmental organisation in Korea.
Seoul KFEM has been running a campaign called ‘Plastic Mill’ that grinds the plastic waste into powder and recreate them as upcycling products. It’s the problem-solving for the small pieces of plastic waste which is not recyclable as it’s hard to separate in the sorting process.
It strives for local grassroots environmental movements to address the ecological and environmental needs of the Seoul area.
