My Final Major Project is based on the idea of “Perception”. Inspired by “Relativity” by M.C. Escher, I wanted to create garments which can be rotated and still wearable, much like how Escher represented the staircases in his painting. Using the idea of rotation, symmetry and repetition through my collection, I was able to produce a collection of garments which have multiple appearances. Creating numerous looks per garments feed into my interest in sustainable practices within the fashion industry. I was able to create a sleek, elegant collection which had sustainable ethics in mind.
